Earthquake, which hit Nepal and other nearing parts of the India, has left around 2000 people dead. This time it is recorded as the worst one in the last 80 years.

In such times, technology is much useful as to inform loved ones who are far away from victims that they are safe. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Facebook has launched one interesting feature called "Safety Update", which helps in informing loved ones about the status of their safety.

Users can click the “I’m safe” button or “I’m not in the area”. You can even indicate the status of your friends in your network, by marking them safe if you know they are OK.

Just as Google's "Person finder" feature does track missing persons around the world.
If people make use of these useful tools, technology really will be a boon for world.

Facebook "Hello" app displays caller identity like Truecaller

Be The First To Comment

Facebook now takes a big step in helping its users by introducing a new app called "Hello".

It is an Android app which uses data from Facebook to show who is calling. This app will act as a tool to identify the caller id and if needed can block the caller if that is not in your Facebook contacts.

Simply it counter-checks the callers' details from your Facebook contacts and displays the same for you to decide whether it is a genuine or a fake call. The user has the right to block that number if it is unknown.

This feature is applicable to those who have shared their numbers in Facebook.

Currently, Facebook is testing this app in US , Brazil and Nigeria.

This app will be available in Google Play store once tested for Android users.

Launch of a separate website for "Messenger" app

Be The First To Comment

As the popularity of social networking increases day by day, the famous social media networking sites have taken the networking a step forward. Now growing demands of chatting inspires the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, to launch a separate website for "Messenger" app.

Like Whatsapp, Facebook too has made its users a website where people can use the apps not only for chatting but also for sharing other important items online.

Messenger will allow users to:

1) Chat with friends via text, know when messages are delivered and sent.
2) HD Calls and sending photos, videos.
3) Voice messages and group chats
4) Payments (available in select areas). Via this, users can send and receive money from friends (which gives Facebook access to card details)

Great step I must say.

So, now use Facebook's Messenger app for chatting and voice messages and calls...the list is big.

Enjoy Face booking....
